STYLE

Choosing the style of your photographer is very important. When trawling through wedding blogs and sites it is easy to be drawn to the sunny Californian style wedding photos which seem to dominate a lot of blogs. However, if you find a style that you love make sure your photographer has experience shooting in Ireland in summer and winter.  Especially if you are having an Irish winter wedding, ensure your photographer has experience shooting on dark days so no matter what weather frames your day, your photographer will have the creativity to produce stunning photographs. Once you find a style that you love, stick to your gut instinct and go for it!

Budget

Wedding photographers cost anything from €400 to €15,000 depending on who you go for. Sometimes it is difficult to see the reason for an expensive photographer but like any service if it sounds too good to be true, it often is.  Weddings can be very expensive but remember that your photographs are your lasting memories of the day and if that is important to you, then it can be worth investing in a good photographer with experience.  There are many photography and album deals that can be appealing because they fit within a budget, but be careful of cheap wedding albums which can discolour and fall apart over time. Expensive albums are generally built to last for decades.  Weddings by KARA always recommends waiting until after the wedding to choose your album, you should not feel pressured into making that decision at stage of booking your photographer!

Experience

The experience and personality of your wedding photographer is very important. Weddings are very stressful occasions and having a calm experienced professional taking your photographs can make a huge difference. A professional photographer will be discreet and unobtrusive. They will be able to capture the events of the day without you even noticing. Check the photographers website and references from other couples to put your mind at ease and always trust your initial reaction and go with your gut :)
